The Voodoo festival in New Orleans has been amazing the past two years that I have gone.
I have a deep love for the festival’s culture. Festivals feature large amounts of people all there for the same thing, to enjoy great music.
Voodoo always does well by delivering amazing lineups for their festival goers.
This year, they featured the likes of The Foo Fighters, The Killers, Dillion Francis, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, DJ Snake, and many more.
My favorite show, by far, was The Foo Fighters. I’ve been waiting so long to see them, and they did not disappoint. Dave Grohl made it very clear that they wanted to give us the show of a lifetime, and they did just that. The most amazing part of the show had to be when Dave played “My Hero” and singled out an audience member to sing with him. Tears were shed, and it was great. You can watch their performance here.
If you ever have a chance to see the Foo Fighters, do it. Don’t think about it, just do it. You won’t regret it.
All the artists were amazing though. My only complaint is that I could not split myself into two so that I could see every artist. Who knows, maybe that’ll be possible one day…
Another great thing about Voodoo, is that it’s right before Halloween. This means that a large majority of the crowd is dressed up in their costumes.
This usually leads to great interactions between complete strangers.
My buddy went as a banana and ended up meeting every other banana at the festival. As a sign of companionship, he touched banana tips with each and every one of them.
It was beautiful.
Festivals can be a great way to see a lot of bands. Unless the festival only plays a specific genre of music, there will be something for everyone. If you are into any sort of contemporary music, I would highly recommend attending one.
