Xander Turns One

Today marks the day that I became a dad.

I have learned a lot over the past year and I hope I am able to pass on some of that knowledge to you.

Most people claim that being a parent is basically a second job.

To me, it is my favorite hobby.

I love being a dad. I love that I have this awesome little guy to spend time with for the rest of my life.

One of the things I look forward to most as a dad is watching him grow. Xander’s definitely done some growing since he was born. He still can’t walk yet, but he loves to talk, scream, go fast, jump, and he loves animals.

People always say to enjoy you children being so young, because they grow up so fast. These people know what they’re talking about. It seems like it was just yesterday that I met Xander. Yet, here he is turning a year old already.

I’m scared because apparently it just goes by faster and faster as they get older. I don’t want that to happen. I wish I could slow time down and enjoy every little thing for even a second longer.

This just makes me think that I need to take extra effort to enjoy every moment that I have with him.

Regardless, I really just wanted to wish Xander a happy first birthday today. I won’t get to see him unfortunately, but I hope that he’s able to have a great day.

I would also like to remind other parents to enjoy every moment that you can before your children are all grown up. Life is long, but it goes by quick. If you blink once you’ll miss everything.

Make sure to enjoy the little moments as they pass by. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Stay awesome
