Passing on My Interests

My interests are interesting, right?

From music to investing, my interests span across many fields. In all honesty I need to calm down and pick one or two.

I plan on being completely involved in my son’s interest. There’s no question about that.

I am interested in how well he takes to my own interests. Like I said, I am fond of a large variety of things. So, there should be at least something that we can both enjoy together.

He’s finally at the point where he is taking an interest in the things I put an emphasis on. If he sees me playing with something, then he tries to play too. In a way, he’s already showing evidence of observational learning.

Well, I have been putting a big emphasis on the bulbasaur we made together at build-a-bear. In case you don’t know what a bulbasaur is, it’s a Pokémon. It’s not just any pokemon though, it’s my favorite generation one starter. Here’s a picture of them for reference.

But it’s awesome to see that Xander is getting somewhat interested in what I like. Well, I like to think he’s interested at least. He usually just does stuff like this.

Honestly though, if I could pass on just one of my interest to him, it would 100% be gaming.

Gaming would allow us to spend time with each other even if we’re miles apart. This is the most powerful aspect of gaming.

You can have best friends where you never physically hang out, but are still able to create an amazing bond with over the internet. It’s a really interesting concept, and it is one that I hope I will be able to share with my son.

This would be a game changer when it comes to spending time with him. I don’t get to see Xander today? Well, maybe we can bond over some portal 2.

I currently feel as though I don’t have nearly enough time with him. This would solve that somewhat. If we were to game together, we would be able to spend much more time together through the power of the interwebs.

It seems like gaming is becoming pretty popular within our society, so I don’t think I have much to worry about.

Until then though, I’ll settle for his interests in my super dad 360 spin moves.

Stay awesome
