The Law of Attraction

Does the secret to achieving your goals lie in this simple law?

The law states that we will attract the things that we focus on.

This means that if you want lots of money, then you will get lots of money.

However, it also means that if you do not want to be broke, then you will be broke.

Supposedly it works in both directions.

You can really think hard about wanting lots of money, and focus on that. According to the law of attraction it will come true.

It will only come true though, if you get the thought of being broke out of your head.

If you give the negative side of the spectrum that concerns money, being broke, any sort of attention, then it takes away from the amount that you can attract on the positive side of the spectrum.

It would be nice if it was 100% true right? However, I don’t think it is 100% true.

Although, I do think it is true to some extent.

You can’t just click your heels three times while saying, “I want to be rich” and expect you to all of a sudden be rich after a period of time.

It won’t just happen out of thin air. I mean, how can it? The only way for that to occur with money is by winning the lottery. If you’re going by the law of attraction, then I would assume the amount of focus to pull that off is off the charts.

I do, however, think that if you consistently focus on one thing, that you will see that one thing come to fruition. It is the same with any skill you have ever learned in your life.

Take reading for example. You did not know how to read as a toddler. Yet, someone made you focus on learning to read. Eventually you learned how to read and you kept improving your reading because you were most likely forced to focus on it. Practice makes perfect.

Affirmations are the other half of the equation that I believe to be true concerning the law of attraction.

Affirmations are when you tell yourself something is going to happen. This is important because you will begin to believe the affirmations that you will tell yourself.

Again, this works in both positive and negative ways.

With positive affirmations, you tell yourself you will reach a goal. Even if your goal is something crazy like colonizing the moon or going to mars, I am looking at you Elon Musk, you will begin to believe that you can do it. At this point, you will engage in actions that take you to what you believe will happen. Before you know it, you have achieved your goal.

It works the same way for negative affirmations as well. Though I only want positivity in my life so I won’t get into it.

So while I do think that the law of attraction has some truth to it, I cannot bring myself to believe in it fully. I do believe however, that it is an important idea to look into. In order to reach your goal, you have to believe that you can achieve it. If you don’t, then you will be defeated before you even start walking towards it.

If you can dream it, then you can do it. The first step is believing.
