It’s a bit late, but I hope you all had a great Christmas.
Christmas is hands down my favorite holiday.
It’s so great to see the whole family and to spend time laughing and smiling with them. I so hope that you are able to have a Christmas like this.
As a child the magic was always behind Santa Claus and the presents. As an adult, the magic is behind family and friends.
I think this is the first year that I am really realizing this.
This is the first of many Christmases where Xander’s Christmas time will be split between his mother and myself.
I have to say, not seeing him Christmas morning is tough. That was always my favorite time as a kid. However, I know that he needs to be able to enjoy this moment with both of his parents. I just happened to be the first to miss out, which is ok. We still had a great time with family during the afternoon.
As a child, my parents would give us matching pajamas on Christmas Eve so that we would match while opening presents on Christmas morning. It was always a tradition I was fond of. It always made me feel a sense of camaraderie between us as a family.
This tradition is one that I am so excited to share with Xander next year. By then, he will hopefully understand what Christmas is and will get super excited for Santa to come.
Even if he doesn’t, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve to hopefully start instilling that Christmas magic in him. Then the next year that I get him, he will for sure be ecstatic that Santa passed while he was snoozing away.
I honestly did not have much planned for this post. I just wanted to take a moment to wish you guys a merry Christmas and ramble on about how much I love Christmas apparently.
Regardless, I do hope you had a great Christmas and that you were able to spend time with your loved ones.
Now, we prepare for 2018!
Stay wild
