Congratulations, You’ve Done it!

You’ve survived every bad day you’ve ever had.

So I’d like you to give yourself a pat on the back right now.

Yea, do it. Who cares who sees? You deserve it.

Bad days can be extremely hard to work through. Sometimes they can even turn into a bad week, month, or year. So you should be giving yourself all the praise for conquering it.

With a bad day comes a change to your psyche where you believe that the world is against you because things seem to pile on endlessly. First you can’t find your other sock, then your car won’t start, and to top it all off its pouring down rain and you left your rain boots at your friends place so your socks get soaking wet which forces you to switch back to the one sock life.

This begins what I call, the snowball effect, where everything will continually get worse and worse until you’re able to take a step back and change your mindset.

Conquering a bad day is not the easiest task in the world! So don’t take giving yourself praise lightly.

Now that you’ve bested every other bad day you’ve had thus far, you know that you’ll be able to overcome the remainder of the bad days you’ll have.

You know that no matter what, you’ll figure it out. At worst you’ll simply push past it because you’re a strong person. I mean, you’ve come this far right?

In the end you know, that everything will be ok. You’ll still be you and the people that love you unconditionally will still love you.

That’s all that really matters. Who you are and the people who love you no matter what.

As long as you don’t allow a circumstance to change you for worse and you keep those important people around in your life, then you have every tool you need to not only get past a bad day, but to conquer life.

Let’s put things into perspective for a moment. Let’s say you’re having a bad week. Your car just broke down, your significant other left you a few days ago, you think you failed that big exam, and worst of all, you still can’t find your other sock.

What’s the worst that can happen here?

The absolute worst case scenario is that you slip on a banana with the foot that doesn’t have a sock while walking to school to get your grade for that big exam and your ex sees. So you die either from the fall or from the embarrassment.

What do you think the chances of this happening are?

I’d say they’re pretty slim. Wouldn’t you agree?

It’s often a human flaw to defeat ourselves before anyone else does. We think about the worst case scenario and what goes wrong before we think about the best case scenario and what could go right.

This is partly why bad days create a snowball effect. We look at things getting worse before they get better.

The thing is though, all the bad things already happened!

You made it through it.

Now you just have to manage to shift your mentality and create positivity in your life.

So let’s re-visit our bad day scenario.

What’s the best that can happen here?

Your car wouldn’t start simply because your battery was dead. You ask a cute stranger for help jumping your car and end up hitting it off and planning a date later that week. So instead of walking to school you drive and you don’t end up slipping up on that banana. You get your test back and you see that you actually had one of the top grades and were worried for nothing. You realize how hard you studied for it once you open your book and find your missing sock inside.

What do you think the chances of this happening are?

I’d say this scenario is much more likely than the previous. Wouldn’t you agree?

It’s easy to let a bad day take over and create a snowball. However, you don’t have to let it.

It’s all about changing your mentality and realizing that the worst has passed and it can only get better from here. However, this can only happen if you let it.

That’s why you should be congratulating yourself on getting past every bad day from here on out.

It means you let yourself be open to positivity which is an amazing thing to do when it feels like your world is crumbling around you.

So, go ahead and give yourself another pat on the back for that one.

Stay awesome.
